About the Academy
The Tejwant Kittu Music Academy is the only academy in India that specialises in Punjabi Folk music. Founded in 2015, students can train vocally, and with musical instruments. The academy mentors new talent and helps those wishing to be a part of the Punjabi music scene, get further.

About Tejwant Kittu
Background
Born and raised in the small town of Mandi Ahmedgarh in Punjab, Tejwant always had a keen interest in music. At only 9 years old he began studying music from Swami Vivekanand Giti. He also began learning how to play musical instruments and started vocal training and continued this for many years, growing in experience.
Tejwant graduated in music in 1989, where he then moved to Jalandhar. Here he commenced a Masters degree in Fine Arts and Music from APJ College. It was In Jalandhar that he met popular classical vocalist and professor, Ustad BS Narang. Ustad Narang had trained many popular musicians of today including Hans Raj Hans, Jasbir Jassi, Sarabjeet Cheemy and many more.
Other musicians then tutored him and it was from this point on that he began his music career and later opened Tejwant Kittu Music Academy.

PTC (2010 – 2022)
One of the biggest Punjabi TV channels – as a judge for talent show: Voice of Punjab. He also served as a mentor to the participants.
Channel Punjab UK
Celebrity guest on the judging panel of Chak De Phatte music show in 2010 and 2012. He also helped mentor new talent from around the world.

On Awaz Punjab Di – an annual show for new singers and performers in Punjab, India
JLPL Gaunda Punjab
JLPL is a popular brand by Punjabi music artist and producer, Jarnail Ghuman. Kittu was the main judge for his huge musical talent show in 2022/2023.
International Appearances
In 2017, Tejwant launched a Punjabi band called Punjabatronics – which toured all over the UK.
Punjabatronics also toured USA in 2018.
The tours received raving reviews and also featured many talented and popular musicians.

Sangeet Samrat Award at the Professor Mohan Singh Mela – Punjab.

Punjab State Government Award for promoting Punjabi language, Folk music, culture, tradition and for services in the industry.
